"My purpose is to empower, instill hope, and ultimately help restore our people and community to traditional greatness ."

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Kimesha C. Morris — Executive Wellness Strategist, Clinical Consultant, and Founder of NIA Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC.

A proud city girl from Hartford, CT, with deep Jamaican roots, I’ve always carried a heart for service — blending lived experience, cultural wisdom, and clinical expertise.

I hold a PhD in Clinical Social Work, a Master’s in Social Work, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Minor in Black Studies. My professional journey spans over 20 years across clinical practice, leadership, higher education, and public speaking — including serving as Director of Social Work and Clinical Supervisor at the Institute of Living, adjunct professor at Southern Connecticut State University, and speaker and panelist featured on NPR and mental health platforms.

Clinically, my expertise lies in supporting individuals navigating racial trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorders, and psychotic disorders. Although I am not currently accepting new therapy clients personally, I continue to oversee a trusted team of culturally responsive clinicians and honor the deep clinical foundation that shapes all of my work.

Today, I specialize in two key areas:

  • Coaching high-achieving Black women — executives, entrepreneurs, creatives, visionary leaders, and more — as they navigate leadership fatigue, racial microaggression, emotional labor, and the invisible weight of success.

  • Consulting with White clinicians and corporate organizations to deepen cultural humility, emotional restoration, and sustainable leadership practices.

My work with Black women is rooted in one core belief:
Black women deserve more than survival.
They deserve spaces where their full brilliance, vulnerability, and humanity are honored — without explanation.

My consultation work is driven by a parallel commitment:
True healing requires not only supporting those harmed by systemic inequities, but also challenging the systems, practices, and unconscious dynamics that perpetuate harm.

Healing. Restoration. Liberation.
That’s the heart of my work — across every space I enter.

Love & Light,

Dr. Kim
